The Chivalry Joust

The Chivalry Joust in Sulmona during the Renaissance was done twice a year (in April and in August 15th). It consists in three attacks done by a knight with a lance dipped by white paint, so visible, against a human target.

Today take part in the Chivalry Joust of Sulmona four “sestrieri” and three “borghi” in which the town is divided. It take place during the last week-end of July.
